Counselling
Support for Mums who are navigating challenging co- parenting dynamics - because motherhood is only one part of who you are.
Hello I’m Sara, a person-centred counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide support to mums who are navigating challenging co-parenting dynamics, including those adjusting to arrangements where their child lives mainly with their father, helping them to feel confident, empowered and heard.
As a mum with lived experience of this kind of arrangement, I understand that spending time away from your child can bring up a wide range of feelings including grief, guilt, doubt, shame, anger, and perhaps sometimes relief as well. Regardless of how the arrangement came about, whether it was carefully chosen or shaped by circumstances, it may be that you are struggling to come to terms with it, experiencing self-doubt or questioning your identity as a mother.
At the heart of our work together will be the belief that motherhood is only one part of who you are. Our work can also focus on strengthening your wider identity; recognising and valuing all the parts of you that exist alongside being a mother so you can live a life which feels authentic and meaningful to you.
Choosing a counsellor is an important and personal decision, and it matters that you feel comfortable with the person you’ll be working with. Following your initial contact, I will arrange for us to have a brief phone call, free of charge. This is so I can gain a brief overview of your presenting issue and so you can ask any questions you have about what our work together will look like.
Should you decide to proceed, all sessions will last for 50 minutes and be charged at £50 per session. I am able to work flexibly and can either offer you sessions on the same day and at the same time each week, or you can choose to have your sessions on different days and at different times each week, depending on your schedule.
