How Person-Centred Online Counselling Works

Hello, I’m Sara

I’m a person-centred counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer online counselling to adults across the UK, where you can talk openly about whatever is happening in your life, without judgement and without pressure to have everything figured out before you begin sessions.

What is person-centred counselling?

Person-centred counselling is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life.

This means that I won’t tell you what to do or decide what you should be working on. Instead, I’ll listen with empathy, acceptance and genuine curiosity, giving you the space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

I believe we all have the capacity for growth and change when we feel genuinely understood and accepted. My role is to create a relationship where you feel safe enough to explore what is important to you and begin to understand yourself more deeply.

What can I bring to counselling?

You don’t need to know exactly what you want to talk about before beginning counselling.

You may be experiencing anxiety or low self-esteem, struggling with a relationship, navigating loss or a significant life change, questioning your identity, or finding family relationships difficult.

Or perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on what’s wrong - you simply know that things don’t feel right at the moment.

Whatever brings you to counselling, we can begin wherever feels right for you.

What will sessions with me feel like?

Our sessions are your space.

There is no expectation to talk about anything before you’re ready, and there is no “right” way to do counselling. I’ll work alongside you, listening carefully and helping you explore what you’re experiencing, without judgement.

Over time, having the space to really hear your own thoughts and feelings can help you make sense of your experiences, recognise your own needs and strengths, and find a way forward that feels right for you.

My hope is that after each session, you will feel as though you have been truly heard.

Support for mums

I have a particular interest in supporting mums who are navigating complex co-parenting dynamics, separation from their children, mum guilt and complex family relationships.
